CHINA MISSION

The Oblates from the Phillippine Province opened a school in Hong Kong in 1966.

The Superior General asked the Australian Province to take responsibility for the China Mission from March 1990. The Oblate mission there has always had a wider interest in China itself as well as the two Primary Schools, one Secondary College and two parishes in Hong Kong.

After many years a permanent Oblate presence was established in the North of mainland China in 2008. Partners in Mission have been working alongside the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in China since the beginning of the new mission.

The focus of the mission in China has been working with the young. From orphanages, to group homes, to pre-schools and community centres, the Oblates focus on giving the younger generation a brighter future.
